Sound Clip
Today we've created a sound clip for our film. This part will be played when the character is having a nightmare. We like the eerie and scary feel of the sounds/instuments we have incorporated.
One Shot
We like this extreme close up as it really captures the eerieness of her scared feelings from the nightmare.

Textual Analysis - Dale
The Exorcist - 1973
Threat
Camera shot /angle - The threat comes from the girl so the camera is centred on the bed from where the girl lays.
Lighting - The threat comes from the girl so the camera is centred on the bed from where the girl lays.
Music /Sound - Fast paced music when threat is in the scene.
Location/Setting - The bedroom becomes a key scene in the film and is important the room is correctly decorated to match the film.
Other - The holy water and the necklace could be seen as a use of a prop to cause meaning within the film.
Vulnerbility
Camera shot/Angle - At one point the mother is on the floor and the camera points down at her as she is in the corner of the room. This shows her as almost being useless in helping her daughter and being a vulnerable target from her possessed daughter.
Lighting - Lighting doesn’t affect vulnerability.
Music/Sound - Music does not increase vulnerability or show it.
Location/Setting - The location does not show vulnerability.
Other - No particular mise en scene aspects to show vulnerability.
Characterisation
Camera shot/Angle - No particular camera shots to show the threat.
Lighting - Threat is under a dull light.
Music/Sound - Music picks up when the threat is about to be in the scene.
Location/Setting - Characterisation is not shown in the location/setting.
Other - Mise en scene does not affect characterisation.
Genre
Camera shot/Angle - Few close ups on threat to show emotion.
Lighting - Lighting very dull following natural conventions of horror.
Music/Sound - The music causes tension and makes the scary parts what they are, which follows the conventions of a normal horror.
Location/Setting - The room is dark. This follows conventions of a dark room with shadows to make it look scary.
Other - Crosses and other religious items are used which is a convention of the possession genre.

LIGHTING DESIGN
On this picture, we used a back light, a key light and a fill light to full light the subject and give an even coverage of the person.
On this image we used a back light and a key light, but less of a fill light to give a shadowed effect on the subject and create a different mood.
For this shot, we used a key light and back light to give a softer effect on the character
We used an angled key light on this shot to highlight the features of the characters face and create a sinister look and distort the face of the character.
